May be it got the name as it is very small, which can be swallowed easily by Lizard.

I think ‘Sugar Candy’ is not a appropriate word. It means ‘Inipu Mittai’. Even the following pictures are also known as Sugar Candy.

There is no specific English word for Balli Mittai (as far as I know) J

It is just called sugar candy.. I found an image when googled for “indian candy”

Hi all,

Quite popular with kids (and some adults like me J) , there’s this candy. It’s simply a cumin seed, coated with a hard sugar-type candy. In Tamil, we call it “balli mittai”. I am not sure of what they call it in other states. I wish I could post a picture of it, so that Infoscions from other states could also understand, but couldn’t find one.

Can someone please tell me what is the English word for it?
